Greg Assemat Tessandier is currently the President of Elephant, an integrated creative + experience agency, part of IPG. Everyday, he strives to inspire his team and partner with clients to create amazing and impactful work that adds value to people’s lives.
How? Beyond processes, fancy tools or catchy buzzwords, he focuses on what matters most to create breakthrough creative work - culture. Not the “breakfast burrito” culture, but culture that powers the “what do you want to be famous for” of every creative agency. The culture powering the work.
In every agency he has led, Greg thrives to foster a culture of creative innovation with traditional thinking and digital connectivity at its core. This culture of creative innovation connects the dots between Brand, Digital Product and Advertising. It’s this connection that engineers creative businesses that are growth oriented and resilient, accessing traditional marketing and the execution phase of digital transformation programs.
It is a culture of creative innovation that drove DAN\Paris’ revenue to grow by 5x, ultimately adding 20%+ of revenue into TBWA\Paris. It’s the same one that more than doubled Elephant’s business and drove substantial new business wins, $56m+ of net new revenue. And counting.
A culture of creative innovation drives great, diverse work. From transforming a classic tune into a message of hope for Yahoo, in the midst of the most radical and inspiring unrest the USA has known for decades. Or designing the new streaming service of NBCUniversal, Peacock, with now more than 15millions users. Creating and building the digital bank and marketing ecosystem to make Goldman Sachs accessible to (almost) every American with Marcus. Helping Blockbuster get back into the conversation amidst the global pandemic. And finally, making a global business platform for Apple which was overall well received.
This diversity of work and impactful growth are powered by the exceptional teams that Greg meticulously curates. At Elephant, he transformed the NY office into a cosmopolitan workforce, open to others, to change and innovation. With 41% BIPOC, 49% immigrants and 51% female, the agency has a strong foundation to continue to drive for a more global, diverse and inclusive work environment.
The success of women in the creative agency world has always been a specific area of focus for Greg. He mentored and recently promoted women into leadership positions, as Head of Client Services and Head of New Business.
His commitment to diversity also shows in the pro-bono partnership that Elephant NY entered with All Star Code, a foundation whose mission is to prepare a new generation of young men of color with the tools they need to succeed in a technological world.
A business mind with a creative heart, Greg is driven by the belief that creative excellence is the core driver to grow brands and agencies. He has been lucky enough to successfully build and scale creative businesses in France, UK, Europe and now, the USA.
And along the way, with his teams, they created work for some of the most prestigious and iconic brands in the world.

A little more personal...
Right from the start, things got confusing. I was born in Paris, of Basque, Mexican, Jewish and Catholic origins. After graduating from Law School, I made a flash stint at an investment bank in the City. Obviously, that did not sit well with my younger idealist self, which explains the switch to advertising (obviously).
I worked and lived in Paris and London (twice). 4 years ago, my wife and I decided to come to NYC with our 4 kids and Maurice, our English bulldog. Yes, his name is Maurice. Yes, my wife and I met at Publicis.
Anecdotally, I’ve been a surfer for the past 35 years, active member of Surfrider Foundation and active contributor for Waves for Water, Sea Shepherd Conservation Society and Amnesty International.
